The Borough has plans for a number of carfree developments and also schemes for car sharing etc. The proposed carfree developments are mainly focused on Walthamstow Town Centre with the intention of alleviating the problem of on-street parking.

Other schemes are being considered for Leyton, Leytonstone and North Chingford.
